Terms of Service Agreement

Welcome to Expense Tracker. By downloading, installing, or using our mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Expense Tracker app ("the App"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Expense Tracker is a personal finance management application that allows you to:

Track and categorize your expenses and income
View financial reports and charts
Export transaction data to CSV format
Scan receipts using OCR technology (optional)
Secure your data with biometric authentication (optional)

All data is stored locally on your device. We do not provide cloud storage, syncing, or backup services.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Data Backup

Important: You are solely responsible for backing up your data. We recommend regularly exporting your transactions to CSV files and storing them in a safe location. Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all local data.

3.2 Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for:

Entering accurate transaction information
Maintaining accurate financial records
Verifying all data before making financial decisions

3.3 Proper Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality

4. Intellectual Property Rights

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Expense Tracker and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our express written permission.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data:

All data is stored locally on your device
We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal or financial information
You have complete control over your data

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Warranties of merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose
Non-infringement
Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL EXPENSE TRACKER BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
Any financial decisions made based on information in the App
Any damage resulting from loss of data stored locally on your device

This limitation applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory.

8. Financial Advice Disclaimer

Important Notice: The App is a tool for tracking and organizing financial information only. It does not provide financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, or investment recommendations. Always consult with qualified professionals for financial decisions.

9. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services for limited functionality:

Google Fonts: For displaying fonts
Google ML Kit: For OCR functionality (processed locally on device)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services.

10. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

Modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice
Update these Terms of Service at any time
Release updates that may change App functionality

Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Data Portability and Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

Export: You can export all your data as CSV files at any time
Delete: You can delete individual transactions or all data from within the App
Uninstall: Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all local data from your device

12. Geographic Restrictions

The App is available worldwide. However, you are responsible for complying with local laws regarding the use of financial tracking applications in your jurisdiction.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App if you violate these Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Expense Tracker regarding the use of the App.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
